The story behind
the design
The concept is conveyed through an amalgamation of the traditional
female-associated chitenge wrapper (rectangular fabric with vibrant print designs, draped around the body for modesty and clothing protection) with classic “western” workwear, typically worn almost exclusively by men who have better chances of finding formal employment in industries like mining, construction work or agriculture.
